What's new in the report
Germany’s overall security index score has risen to 151 points, up 6 points since October 2009, but still lower than 2001, 2008 and early 2009 reports. Germans’ main security concerns still relate to the unauthorised access to, and misuse of, personal data, scoring 159 points and ranking alongside the UK as the two European countries most worried about personal security. Financial security was close behind in terms of major concerns (158) with national security being of least concern, but still high at 131 points. Germans are willing to sacrifice privacy for personal security at airports, with 64% comfortable with using body scanners and 70% accepting biometrics as a valid way to scan for information at airports.
